How it Works
Individual Portfolio options are offered to account owners who would prefer to create their own asset allocation mix. These are all low-cost, passively managed options that are designed to track the return of each portfolio’s benchmark.
With this option, the account owner is responsible for managing the allocation to match the appropriate level of risk for their beneficiary as they approach enrollment age.
This option is best for experienced investors who want a hands-on approach. If you choose an Individual Portfolio that is heavily invested in stocks, such as the U.S. Equity Index Portfolio, you might consider moving your assets to more conservative Individual Portfolios that invest in either bonds or capital preservation as your beneficiary approaches the age when funds are expected to be used.
